Dorie Clark is a marketing strategy consultant, professional speaker, and frequent contributor to the Harvard Business Review, TIME, Entrepreneur, and the World Economic Forum blog.   1. Focus on big challenges. Its hard to have a breakthrough idea if you’re thinking small and making only incremental improvements.
  2. Combine disciplines in order to innovate. Bringing more skills to a company will help you see things differently.
  3. Cultivate your mentor board of directors. They will help vet your ideas.
  4. Start creating content. This is one of the cornerstone activities to becoming a thought leader or recognized expert.
  5. Don’t forget about social proof. It is important for people to have markers of credibility so others take them seriously.
