Donna Papacosta is a writer, speaker, podcaster and consultant, helping clients communicate with employees, customers and prospects. In addition to leading workshops on social media and communications topics, Donna teaches Audio Journalism at Sheridan College, and Digital Communications Strategy and Social Media at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. In 2005 Donna launched Trafcom News, one of the first business podcasts in Canada. Since then she has expanded her expertise in both social media and multimedia, and helps people integrate these tools into their communications. She is the co-author of the book, The Business of Podcasting and the author of The Podcast Scripting Book.

Career Highlight

Donna was a senior systems analyst in NYC. After her mom died she quit her job and studied journalism. In 2005, discovered podcasting which has created opportunities to grow her speaking and training career.

Donna produces her own podcast. She helps create, interview, and produces other people’s podcast.

When It Didn’t Work

Donna started writing articles about IT. She was using her writing career and tried to be all things to all people. She didn’t know her target audience. She learned that she needs to know who she wants to work for…who she wants to become her client.

  2. Get the right technology. Make your audio and editing quality.
  3. Don’t give up. Stay consistent.
  4. Don’t be discourage by the numbers.
  5. Ask for feedback. Ask for reviews.
