Steve was doing the side hustle and eventually started a podcast. He contacted Shazam and got a high-level executive at Shazam to be interviewed on his podcast when he had a small following.

[10:40]…When Steve became an entrepreneur he was working with a big client that was half his income. He was starting to apply for jobs.

How To Get A Reporter’s Attention

  1. Use Instagram
  2. Engage: communicate with reporters about things they’re talking about.
  3. Give a reporter the exclusive: first right to publish your announcement.
  4. Embed juicy details: put the GIF inside the email.
  5. Personalize your pitch: do your homework on the reporter so you can personalize the pitch.
