Icebreaker

Think Like A Journalist Quote
“As a small business owner, you must sell or you will go out of business. Therefore, you must prospect (it’s an integral part of the process). You have to bring people to your business, not just wait for them to show up.”

Making Your Website A Powerful Online Tool For Your Business
So many people and businesses jump into their marketing before laying the groundwork. I’d like to talk about the essential elements that need to be built before you can start promoting and attracting business.
This may sound obvious but, I see so many entrepreneurs, businesses, and freelancers fail to do these things.
The five action tips would be related to setting up core branded website that acts as the heart of your online presence.
1. Start with a responsive, professionally branded website. It doesn’t need to be fancy.
2. Decide on one opt-in and point all of your call-to-actions to that one opt-in.
3. Create 2-3 in-depth blog posts that lead into your call-to-action.
4. Set up your social media profiles so that they lead back to your main opt-in.
5. Guest post and link back to the blog posts on your website.
Once this is set up, you can go on to other more complex action items. You can revisit these items to fine tune them. But at the beginning, you need these five things to get started.
Start with a responsive, professionally branded website. It doesn’t need to be fancy.
The pages you need: About page that says who you are and why you are doing this work; List of products and services that include benefits of each; Testimonials ; Samples; Contact Form; Blog Page
Focus content creation on making an opt-in. Or offer a freebie product or consultation.
If you choose to create content, build it up over time. Create a blog plan that you can turn into an ebook at the end.
Make sure that there are clear call-to-actions all over your site. Colorful button is best.
Start to create blog posts that you can use to draw people back to your site. Create lengthy resource posts.
What is one piece of technology, video or multimedia equipment, or app that you just can’t live without?
One book, documentary, or Internet Channel to watch?
